MPBSE Begins Evaluation Of Class 10 And 12 Exam Answer Sheets

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) began its assessment process for the Class 10 and 12 board exams on Thursday.

Over 35,000 teachers from across the state were enlisted to evaluate the answer sheets. The board has distributed the answer sheets to different districts to ensure a timely and accurate evaluation, implementing strict guidelines to maintain fairness throughout the process.

The evaluation will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, answer sheets from exams held until March 6 will be assessed.

For Class 10, subjects such as Hindi, English, Urdu, Marathi, Physics, Economics, Animal Husbandry, Elements of Science, History of Indian Art, and Biotechnology will be evaluated.

For Class 12, subjects including Hindi, Urdu, NSQF, and Sanskrit will be assessed first. The board has roped in over 35,000 teachers across the state for the evaluation work. The process started on March 13, and teachers were trained in various districts. They were provided with detailed instructions and guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in the assessment.

This year, more than 9.54 lakh students have registered for the Class 10 exams, while 7.65 lakh students are enrolled in Class 12. To minimise marking errors, MPBSE has introduced rigorous measures. Teachers are restricted to evaluating no more than 45 answer sheets per day to maintain precision.

CCTV surveillance has also been set up at all evaluation centres to monitor the process. Errors in evaluation will incur a fine of Rs 100 per mistake, although minor numbering errors will not result in blacklisting.

MPBSE secretary KD Tripathi emphasized, “Accuracy is crucial in the evaluation process. In past years, re-evaluations have led to significant mark improvements for students.”
