Harassed By Private Money Lenders, Man Ends Life

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after being harassed by some private money lenders in the Aerodrome area on Wednesday.

His wife was at her parents’ place at the time of the incident. No suicide note was recovered from the spot till the filing of the report. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Ankit Solanki, a resident of Nagin Nagar area of the city.

Solanki was found hanging at his place by his family members around 4.30 pm who rushed him to the hospital but it was too late. The police have sent the body for an autopsy examination and the statements of his family members are being recorded to know the reason behind his suicide.  

His wife’s brother Ashok Nayak informed Free Press that Solanki ran a tailoring shop. He had borrowed some money from some people a few years ago. He had repaid the entire loan after selling his house for Rs 22 lakh but he was still being harassed by the private lenders for a few days which allegedly led him to take such an extreme step.

Nayak said that his father passed away a few days ago so Ankit’s wife and other family members were attending a related programme when Ankit hanged himself from the ceiling. When the family members reached home in the evening, they found him hanging.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 13-year-old boy was allegedly electrocuted to death while playing Rang Panchami with friends under Banganga police station limits on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Chirag, son of Rakesh Chauhan, a resident of Freeganj near Marimata area. His family members said that the incident occurred around 2:30 pm near his house when he was throwing water on his friends with a water-pipe.

Suddenly, he fell unconscious on the ground and was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. Preliminary investigation suggested that he might suffer an electric shock from water pump-motor.

The police began a probe to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and sent the body for autopsy examination.
