Patna: The residents of the city are set to experience a change in weather conditions from today, according to the India Meteorological Department. The weather department predicted rainfall in the Samastipur, Vaishali, Nalanda, Begusarai, and Khagaria districts. The Meteorological Department has provided a warning for the upcoming 7 days.
A cyclone is developing in Assam and nearby regions. Due to western disturbance, the humidity level in Bihar has risen. There is a chance of rain, hail, and lightning in several areas from March 20 to March 23. The weather is anticipated to return to usual conditions starting March 24.
IMD predicted a yellow alert
According to the IMD, a trough has formed from the central part of Odisha to South Vidarbha via South Chhattisgarh. At the same time, the weather conditions are expected to change due to the formation of a cyclonic circulation of upper air in Northeast Assam and its surroundings. The weather agency has issued a rain alert in seven cities. The minimum and maximum temperatures of the city are likely to hover around 22 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The sky is expected to be cloudy, which will remain the same throughout the day. The IMD shared a weather report on X (formerly Twitter) and said that some parts of Saran, Patna, Gaya, Bhojpur, and Nalanda districts would experience moderate thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by light rain and gusty wind. The wind is expected to blow at 30 kmph. At the same time, there is a forecast of light rain with thunder and lightning in Patna and surrounding areas.

Possibility of hail on March 21
The weather department predicted a partly cloudy sky on Friday, March 21, 2025. The minimum and maximum temperatures will likely hover around 22 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius, respectively. A yellow alert has been issued for hailstorms along with rain and thunderstorms in Aurangabad, Gaya and Nawada districts.
