Preview
The Capitals snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against the Lucknow Super Giants while chasing 210 despite getting reduced to 7/3 and 66/5 at one stage. Ashutosh Sharma’s 31-ball 66 gave an early signs that he will be the uncapped player to watch out for in this edition as the batting all-rounder displayed nerves of steel. Axar Patel and co. will also be boosted by KL Rahul’s return and it remains to be seen where he fits.
Nevertheless, the same Lucknow Super Giants steamrolled the SunRisers, who made a winning start against the Rajasthan Royals. Their batting wheels that marauded their way to 286 against the Royals, were nowhere near against the Super Giants, whose planning and precision left them with a below-par 190 against Hyderabad. Pat Cummins and co. did pick up five wickets but were well beaten in the end; hence, they will have their task cut out against the Capitals.
