Bollywood superstar Salman Khan reportedly met a handful of his fans on April 5, Friday, after his latest release, Sikandar, failed to perform at the box office. The film was mounted on high expectations and a massive budget, and its failure has reportedly pushed the actor to reevaluate his career choices.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, Salman interacted with his select fans at a private meeting on Friday, wherein he took their feedback related to his career and upcoming films. “Salman wants to stay connected with his fans and hear their thoughts directly. He’s creating a platform for open dialogue, where he can understand their reactions to his projects and what they expect from him. The recent meeting was a casual, agenda-free gathering to make this happen,” the report quoted a source.
During the meeting, Salman reportedly also asked his fans about what went wrong with Sikandar, and why the film did not meet their expectations. He then expressed that he wants to do films that will make his fans happy.
Sikandar, which was made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, failed to perform at the box office, and the film finally crossed Rs 100 crore after its second weekend. The total box office collection of the film now stands at Rs 102.25 crore in India.
Meanwhile, Salman recently confirmed that he is all set to share the screen with Sanjay Dutt in his next, and the film has reportedly been titled Ganga Ram. He also has a film with Sooraj Barjatya in the pipeline.
If reports are to be believed, Salman also has Kick 2 in his kitty. The superstar was set to join hands with filmmaker Atlee in his next, however, the film fell apart due to escalated budget.
