Varanasi: Samajwadi Party leader Harish Mishra was attacked with a knife in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi. The mob caught hold of two attackers and thrashed them, leaving them bleeding. The attackers are allegedly associated with Karni Sena. Mishra had made some statements on Karni Sena.
A video from the spot of the incident has surfaced. In the video, both the accused can be seen sitting in a police van. One accused can be seen sitting shirtless while the other’s shirt is filled with bloodstains.
In the video, police can be seen speaking to Mishra. The cop can be heard telling Mishra, “Hum inko yaha chowki pe nahi baitha sakte iss halat mei, ya toh hum inhe thane le jayege medical karenga.” Which translates to, we cannot leave them (attackers) in the chowki in this condition, we will have to take them to to the police station for a medical.”
To which Mishra agrees, Later people can be heard saying, “Apradhi Gadi see ayega?” which translates to will you bring the attackers in the car.

Another video has surfaced in which Mishra can be seen holding one of the attackers by his neck and later handing over the man to the police.
Police Action
Varanasi police confirmed legal action against the attackers. The police also confirmed that both parties suffered injuries and were sent for treatment.

Karni Sena Stages Protest
Earlier in the day, agitated with the “traitor” remark of SP MP Ramji Lal Suman on Rana Sanga, the Karni Sena staged a protest in Agra on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Rana Sanga. Protesters can be seen brandishing swords and sticks in their hands surrounded the police.

Statement By SP MP Ramji Lal Suman
Earlier last month speaking in the parliament SP MP Ramji Lal Suman said, “BJP leaders often claim that Muslims have the DNA of Babur. But Indian Muslims do not consider Babur their ideal. In fact, who brought Babur to India? It was Rana Sanga who invited him to defeat Ibrahim Lodi. By that logic, if you claim Muslims are the descendants of Babur, then you are also the descendants of Rana Sanga-a traitor. We criticise Babur, but not Rana Sanga.”
