Guna (Madhya Pradesh): There was tension in the city after an incident of stone-pelting on the procession taken out to mark Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday evening. Locals staged a chakka-jam as a mark of protest.
According to information, the procession started from Shah Ke Kolhupura, and at around 8 pm, it reached the masjid near Colonelganj when a local corporator had a dispute with some people over taking the procession forward. Suddenly, there was stone pelting on the procession, and people ran for safety. Police who were present there drove away people from the spot.
Subsequently, locals staged a chakka-jam demanding that a case be registered against those who pelted stones. Senior officials, including the collector and SP, reached the spot.

Senior police and administration officials reached Hanuman Chouraha and told the protesters to reach the Kotwali police station to lodge a complaint, to which they agreed.
Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal and SP Sanjeev Kumar Sinha also reached Hanuman Chouraha and then went to Colonelganj to take stock of the situation.
SP Sinha said the situation is now under control. He said after reports of stone pelting on the procession near Colonelganj Masjid, there was a minor disturbance, but the police and administration acted swiftly and brought the situation under control.
