Man Electrocuted, Current Spreads To Other Houses, Fault In Electricity Distribution Pole

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 25-year-old man was electrocuted after he came in contact with electric current present in the main door of his house on Tuesday morning under Shahjehanabad police station limit. It is alleged that the current spread to several households of the locality due to a fault in electricity distribution pole.

Locals demanded a probe and action against the concerned discom officials. According to reports, Sanjay Nagar resident Satish Kakote received electric shock when he opened the main door of his house at 7 am on Tuesday.

His brother Ramu said electric appliances of their home were burnt following the incident. Shahjehanabad police station house officer Umesh Pal Singh Chauhan said primary investigations suggested that a fault in distribution pole caused the mishap.

The body was handed over to family after the post-mortem. Further investigation is underway, he added. Meanwhile, the local residents expressed resentment over the incident. Many claimed that electric appliances of their houses were burnt following the short circuit in the distribution pole. There have been similar incidents in the past resulting in deaths of cattle. Despite repairs, fault persists in the pole.

The residents have demanded an inquiry into the incident and action against concerned staff. Box: Boy electrocuted while playing cricket In another incident, a 16-year-old boy died of electrocution after he received electric shock while playing cricket at Ajabpura village under Berasia police station limit on Monday evening.

Police said Vikram Gurjar’s son Niraj was playing cricket on ground with other boys. Niraj went near the boundary wall to get the ball when he accidentally stepped on a live electric wire lying there. Niraj received shock and was rushed to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. Action will be taken against those responsible following investigation, police added.

Man electrocuted A 37-year-old man was electrocuted while he was installing CCTV camera in Shiv Nagar area under Chhola Mandir police station. Police said Qazi Camp resident Sanjay was an employee of a CCTV camera agency.

He had gone to install CCTV camera and threw a cable on the other side of the wall on April 9. However, Sanjay received electric shock when the cable came in contact with high tension wires passing from above. He was admitted to the hospital where he died during treatment on Tuesday night.
