Bhopal: Academic Session In 3rd Week, SDMs Yet To Get Complaint From Any Student Or Parent

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A committee of eight SDMs of Bhopal, asked to check whether private and government schools are forcing parents to buy non-NCERT books from any particular shop, is yet to get complaint from any parent or student.

A committee of eight SDMs of Bhopal was constituted by the district collector on April 8 to check whether private schools are forcing parents to buy non-NCERT books from any particular shop.

SDM, MP Nagar, LK Khare has so far inspected two schools including Carmel Convent, BHEL and MGM School in the city.

At MGM School, he found that not a single NCERT book was prescribed for Classes 6-8. “All the books were of private publishers and three to four times costlier than the NCERT books. And all the parents were being forced to buy the books from a particular book seller,” he stated.

In Carmel Convent School, only one or two non-NCERT books were prescribed. “I will be submitting my report to the collector, who will then take further action,” Khare added.

SDM, TT Nagar, Archana Rawat Sharma said that she has not received any complaint regarding the matter from any parent or student.

The district administration had also designated certain officials of the education department for receiving complaints from parents regarding the same.

They include District Project Coordinator Om Prakash Sharma, Block Education Officer, Phanda Vinod Kumar Rajoria, Additional District Project Coordinator AK Vijayvargiya and the principals of two government higher secondary schools.
