‘Dragged, Thrashed Over 30 Times’: Bengaluru Rehab Patient Brutally Assaulted With Sticks By Staff; Warden, Owner Booked After Video Goes Viral

Bengaluru: A horrific incident surfaced from a rehabilitation centre in Karnataka’s Bengaluru, where an inmate was thrashed mercilessly by the staff. The incident was recorded on CCTV installed and its video is going viral on social media.

The inmate was thrashed by the staff over 30 times after he refused to wash the warden’s clothes and clean the toilet, reported The Times of India. The private rehabilitation centre is located within the Nelamangala Rural Police jurisdiction.

The video shows the inmate was dragged repeatedly and another man with a stick assaulted him. There were three other people in the room apart from the victim and the person assaulting him.

Police Action:

After the video surfaced online, the police swung into action and raided the rehabilitation centre. The incident reportedly took place earlier, but the video surfaced now.

The owner and the warden have been booked by the police.
