MP April 18 Weather Updates: Extreme Heat Grips 12 Madhya Pradesh Districts; No Relief Expected Till April 20

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 12 districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Indore, Gwalior and Panna are to experience extreme heat on Friday. The heat has intensified across the state as summer temperatures continue to rise. 

On the contrary, rain was witnessed in Shajapur and Sehore on Thursday, while cities like Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Ujjain faced soaring temperatures. 

Weather expected on Friday

April 18: Extremely hot weather is expected in Gwalior, Chambal, Indore, Ujjain, and surrounding districts. Other affected areas include Sheopur, Mandsaur, Dhar, Ratlam, Khargone, and Burhanpur. Cities like Chhatarpur and Panna will also experience rising heat.

What do meteorologists say?

According to IMD Bhopal’s weather expert, both daytime and nighttime temperatures have increased and similar weather conditions are expected for the next five days. However, there is currently no official heatwave alert in place.

The Meteorological Department has advised people to avoid stepping out between 12 PM and 4 PM when the sun is at its peak and hot winds blow. People are also encouraged to wear cotton clothes and eat light, hydrating meals.

Temperature records

Narmadapuram recorded the highest temperature at 43.6°C. Whereas, Ratlam: 43.2°C, Guna: 42.4°C, Shajapur: 42.1°C, Gwalior: 42°C, Bhopal: 41.1°C, Ujjain: 41.5°C, Indore: 40.4°C and Jabalpur experienced a temperature of 39.6°C.

Weather expected in next 2 days

April 19: Temperatures are likely to rise further. Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior will continue to feel the heat during the daytime.

April 20: Day temperatures in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior may reach or exceed 40°C. Night temperatures will remain around 25°C. The heat will affect other cities as well.
