Four Direct International Flight For Haj Pilgrims, 2 Flights From Bhopal To Jeddah, UAE

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Air India Express will operate four international flights for Haj pilgrims in Bhopal. Two of them will fly on April 29 and April 30 from Raja Bhoj International Airport. And other two flights will bring them back. It will be a direct flight from Bhopal to Jeddah.

The first international flight carrying Haj pilgrims from Bhopal to Jeddah, UAE, will take off from Raja Bhoj International Airport here on April 29.

Airport director Ramji Awasthi said, “Two flights, each a 288- seater will fly directly from Bhopal airport with Haj pilgrims. And two flights will bring them back. About 300 pilgrims will fly for Haj from Bhopal as per Haj quota. All preparations have been made. Customs and immigration facilities will be provided.”

Earlier, an international non-scheduled flight to Dubai with five passengers had left from Bhopal airport on April 13. Similarly, another non-scheduled flight from Dubai had landed in Bhopal on April 19.

In May 2024, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs had issued amendment to its notification to insert an additional entry in Madhya Pradesh to include the name of Bhopal airport for customs purpose.

Therefore, Raja Bhoj International Airport Bhopal was notified as a customs airport for the purpose of baggage landing and loading, making it the only facility after Indore and Khajuraho.
