Surat : America’s iconic diamond-jewelry company, Zales, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, has partnered with Laxmi Diamond (LD), a renowned Surat-based diamond company, to create an extraordinary piece of art—a diamond-studded tennis racket. This masterpiece has been unveiled at the US Open, the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament, where Zales is sponsoring select players.
In a remarkable collaboration with the sporting goods brand Prince, Zales introduced a co-branded, tennis-inspired capsule collection. The centerpiece of this collection is the dazzling tennis racket, meticulously encrusted with natural diamonds by Laxmi Diamond. Chunibhai Gajera, a director at Laxmi Diamonds, shared to a media group that their company was entrusted with the task of embedding 794 natural diamonds, ranging from VVS to SI clarity, onto the tennis racket. These diamonds were crafted in five distinct shapes: round, oval, emerald, pear, and marquise, making the racket an exquisite symbol of luxury and craftsmanship.
The tennis racket, which features a 24-carat gold frame, is adorned with over 205.72 carats of natural diamonds, making it a true marvel of both design and engineering. The grip of the racket is covered with 621 diamonds, while 173 diamonds are intricately placed on the strings. Each diamond basket on the strings was individually crafted to showcase the brilliance of each stone, with diamonds varying in size from 1/10 carat to over 2 carats.
Priced at $2.5 million, this diamond-studded tennis racket has become the centerpiece of attention at the US Open. It is being displayed at the Zales suites, where participants and tennis enthusiasts can admire this unique creation. The racket also serves as a testament to Zales’ century-long legacy of innovation and excellence in the jewelry industry.
