why just Rs 1?

According to DCP Meena, “The two absconders believed themselves to be the ‘don’ of the city, and if the police happened to announce any bounty on them ever, it would be a huge amount. Therefore, to let them know their value and actual place, we have announced a reward of merely a rupee.”   Also, the people would inform police about their whereabouts without any fear of the accused. The notice also emphasises that any information about the absconders’ whereabouts must be reported to the police and a token reward will be given to those who get valuable leads.
