Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Four people died after a speeding ambulance hit a pedestrian on Sunday in Seoni.
The ambulance collided with a pole, and landed in an open field near Dharpatha village on Jabalpur Road.
The deceased were identified as Pratima Devi (35), Mukesh Shah (36), Sunil (40) and Prince (3), residents of Bihar; while the injured were identified as Lalu Shah (37), Anish Kumar (18), Sheikh Babu (45) and Ranglal Kulaste (45).
In the accident, 4 people, including a three-year-old child of the same family died, while 5 others were injured. The injured have been referred to Jabalpur hospital, after first aid were given to them in nearby hospital.
According to information, the ambulance was going from Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. On the way, the ambulance hit a pedestrian near Dharpatha village on Jabalpur Road.
Following this, the ambulance driver lost the control over the vehicle, then collided with a pole around 9 am on Sunday. After collision, the ambulance went off the road and landed in an open field. The accident was so intense that the front part of the ambulance were completely destroyed.
After the accident, the three members of the same family died on the spot while five others were rushed to the nearby hospital. Upon receiving information, police immediately reached the spot.
The remaining five individuals sustained injuries in the accident and were provided first aid before being referred to Jabalpur for further treatment.
The police are investigating the matter further, and additional details are awaited.
