Mumbai: A 16-year-old boy, Huzdh Gulam Rabbani Ansari, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on the Y-Bridge near Nagpada on November 30, around 2:30 AM. His elder brother, Abdul Wadood Ansari (21), who was riding the motorcycle, has been booked for reckless and negligent driving. The Nagpada Police have registered an FIR against Abdul Wadood Ansari under sections 281 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.
According to the complaint filed by Police Constable Amit Sapate (42), attached to the Crime Detection Unit of Nagpada Police Station, the incident occurred when Abdul Wadood, riding his motorcycle (MH-03-BM-0777), collided with another motorcycle (MH-03-BC-6907) driven by his cousin, Abdul Hadi Asif Ansari. Huzdh, seated as a pillion rider on Abdul Wadood’s bike, suffered severe head injuries due to the collision.
According to the police, on November 29, at 9:00 PM, Huzdh’s parents rushed his mother, Arefa Parveen, to Wockhardt Hospital after she complained of chest pain. Early on November 30, Abdul Wadood and his cousin Abdul Hadi left the hospital on separate motorcycles to fetch food. Around 2:30 AM, near the Y-Bridge on the road towards Agripada, Abdul Wadood lost control of his vehicle and collided with Abdul Hadi’s motorcycle. Huzdh was rushed to Wockhardt Hospital, where he was declared brought dead at approximately 3:52 AM. A case has been registered against Abdul Wadood Ansari for rash and negligent driving, which led to his younger brother’s fatal injuries.
