Ratnagiri: The local crime branch team apprehended 30-year-old Adil Ashraf Sheikh after observing him behaving suspiciously and confiscated 15 packets of what is allegedly termed ‘brown heroin’ valued at approximately Rs. 77,500.
The Ratnagiri Local Crime Branch team was conducting a patrol in Ratnagiri city when they observed the suspicious behavior of an individual. During the police interrogation, 15 packets of brown heroin were discovered in his bag. The authorities confiscated 15 packets and a motorcycle valued at Rs. 77,500.

District Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kulkarni and Additional Superintendent of Police Jayshree Gaikwad have instructed the Local Crime Investigation Branch to take measures against drugs in Ratnagiri district.
Thus, while the team was on patrol under the supervision of Local Crime Investigation Branch Inspector Nitin Dhere, they discovered Adil Ashraf Sheikh (age 30, from Golap Sada) seated on a two-wheeler and engaging in suspicious behavior at Jaystambh.
During the police investigation, 15 bags of brown heroin were discovered in his backpack. The police took Adil Ashraf Sheikh into custody and filed a case against him at the local police station. His motorcycle was also confiscated. This step was executed by Police Inspector Nitin Dhere, Assistant Police Inspector Pramod Wagh, Police Constable Shantaram Jhore, Balu Palkar, Deepraj Patil, and Ganesh Sawant.
